Leadership for Conservation in Africa

Working in collaboration with like-minded partners is key to ensure the long-term protection of selected ecosystems in Africa. One such collaboration is the Foundation’s joint endeavor with Leadership for Conservation in Africa (LCA), which focuses on protecting rainforests and selected ecosystems in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Hasso Plattner Foundation supports LCA initiatives focusing on environmental protection and education, such as their joint project with the Sabine Plattner African Charities called EduConservation, which aims to enrich school curricula with nature conservation content in six African countries.

Furthermore, the Foundation supports two programs by LCA that aim to foster a conservation-centered dialogue and a vibrant exchange of knowledge on nature conservation: Unlocking Nature and ShareScreen Africa.

Unlocking Nature is a weekly digital talk featuring conservationists and researchers from across Africa. The events are free and open to the public.

ShareScreen Africa brings together scientists, academics, conservation practitioners, and students to share their knowledge in the field of nature conservation in lecture rooms, colleges, and organizations without financial compensation. All lectures are available on ShareScreen’s website and YouTube channel.
