The Position

We are looking for a Manager Investment Controlling – Direct Investments (m/f/x) to support our wealth management team in Potsdam. You will work closely with the Investment Office and the Foundation on several unique private company holdings along the entire investment lifecycle, and other organizations in different regions all over the world. Based on accurate data in our central asset management software as well as analysis of company financial statements and KPIs, you will ensure a comprehensive performance controlling and asset monitoring to generate decision-useful information. The position has high visibility towards internal and external stakeholders and requires very good communication skills.

Your main tasks

  • Be single point of contact for designated private company investments across multiple industries and other organizations with various missions and business models (profit / non-profit)
  • Analyze financial and strategic decisions (e.g., commercial assessment of business ideas)
  • Conduct yearly budget discussions, company valuations and business plan assessments
  • Analyze key performance indicators, as well as monitor and further develop financial reporting
  • Prepare and participate in board meetings and investment committee meetings
  • Coordinate due diligence and underwriting processes with internal and external parties and handling of data and documentation
  • Manage accurate data records in our asset management software
  • Manage internal projects related to further enhance controlling capabilities including further development of controlling tools and processes

Your experience & qualifications

  • Very good academic degree in business administration or similar subject
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience in investment management, capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, financial due diligence, FP&A or controlling with a well-recognized company
  • Strong understanding of financial statements
  • Experience with funds in general or one asset class in particular is a plus, e.g. hedge funds, public equities, venture capital, buyout, or fixed income
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in oral and written English, at least intermediate fluency in German
  • Mastery of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge in SAP S/4HANA, Business Intelligence or asset management software is a plus
