The Hasso Plattner Foundation aims to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies through science and education, improve access to art and culture, and support environmental conservation. Hasso Plattner is one of the founders of SAP, an enterprise software company, and has been chairman of its supervisory board since 2003. In 1998, Hasso Plattner founded the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering (HPI), marking his first significant philanthropic contribution. After signing the Giving Pledge (initiated by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet), he established the foundation in 2015. The Hasso Plattner Foundation’s main office is in Potsdam, Germany, with additional offices in San Francisco, USA, and Cape Town, South Africa.

The position

We are looking for an energetic Manager Philanthropic Excellence (m/f/x). In this role, you will directly contribute to increasing the impact of one of the world’s largest philanthropic organizations. Your focus will be on the Foundation as a whole and on our largest focus area – Science & Education. You will be based in Potsdam (Germany) within commuting distance of central Berlin, working full-time. 

Your main tasks

  • Design, plan, and implement impact measurement and impact reporting across the HPF’s focus areas
  • Contribute to strategy development at the Foundation and its projects
  • Guide the sustainable growth of the Foundation’s activities in the Science & Education focus area (namely Hasso Plattner Institute and Data4Life)
  • Support the professionalization and sustainability of the Foundation’s governance
  • Act as a sparring partner within the Foundation and for our project teams

Your Experience & Qualifications

  • Outstanding academic track record from a leading university
  • Completed master’s degree, ideally PhD, STEM background is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in leading complex projects, preferably at a top multinational management consultancy
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills including mastery of PowerPoint & Excel
  • Great organizational skills and structured way of working
